2D MMORPG Indie game development - update #1 - 2019

An online multiplayer game featuring bunnies exploring other dimensions and alternate planes. 2D MMO with isometric elements. 00:42 - logging in and selecting a realm. 01:02 - creating a character 01:42 - inspecting game objects 02:17 - joining a party 02:30 - spells & combat 03:19 - looting & inventory 04:07 - npc dialogs 04:50 - consuming items 05:20 - questing engine 06:22 - friend lists & chat. 08:27 - targeting & regeneration spell 09:10 - instance/server travel - npc follow behavior - npc triggered dialog - persisted afflictions - haste affliction triggered 10:53 - server shutdown Clustered servers, distributed realms and services with cross realm play and chat. Support for MongoDB, ElasticSearch, Hazelcast and SQLite/CQEngine for storing data. Written on top of the chili-core framework. The client is a progressive web application that can be installed to desktop, uses Polymer for UI elements and Pixi.js with WebGL. Current features - form a party with other players - cross realm/instance friend & party chat. - friend lists - questing system - dialog system - inventory & looting systems - movement & instance travel - casting spells, dealing damage, cooldowns and charges - scripting support: groovy, javascript, jexl or java. - afflictions system - effects, animations, particles and text. In progress - content; worlds, npcs, quests, spells, afflictions, items, bad guys and more! - story and game design - more creatures, animations and effects - crafting, harvesting, skills. game server implementation -https://github.com/codingchili/chili-game-ext chili-core backend framework - https://github.com/codingchili/chili-core Note: The client repository is not currently open sourced as it uses assets which cannot be included in open source listings. The client code could be open sourced at a future date if the assets are restructured.
