Loveletter, also known as ILOVEYOU, was a widespread computer worm that surfaced on May 4th, 2000, and quickly caused billions of dollars in damages while shutting down email networks worldwide. Although it also contained a keylogging component, this was taken offline quickly and did not comprise much of the total damage amount.
