Netherlands: Zundert Flower Parade 2017 – ZUNDERTS BLAUW (ZUNDERT‘S BLUE)
Amazing show – beautiful floats – all this colourful decoration consists of millions of flowers! In Zundert, in the South of the Netherlands, we are crazy about our flower parade. Our grannies and granddads started it in 1936 and we still can’t have enough of it. The Flower Parade (Bloemencorso) Zundert is the largest flower parade in the world entirely made by volunteers. The parade takes place on the first Sunday of September. The floats are large artworks made of steel wire, cardboard, paper-mâché and flowers. In the Bloemencorso Zundert, only dahlias are used to decorate the objects and it takes thousands of them just to cover one float. It was founded in 1936.
