The astrolabe turns the sky into a flat geometric map. Measure a star’s altitude with the alidade, then rotate the star map against the plate for your latitude. With the correct rising or setting branch, the geometry gives local sidereal time - time measured by Earth’s rotation relative to the stars. In this example, Vega’s altitude is about 72.4°, and the recovered sidereal time is 20.00 h. The cable robot uses four winches to move a suspended camera. Cables can pull but cannot push, so a desired position must be compatible with positive tensions and the winches’ force limits. The payload can sway and tilt, and finite motor power limits cable speed. Here it follows an orbit and a spatial figure-eight before a sideways wind force is introduced. The hydrofoil boat begins with its hull supported by buoyancy. As it accelerates, its submerged wings generate enough lift to raise the hull above the water. A cutaway reveals the foils, and changing their incidence alters both lift and pitching moment. The final shot shows automatic height and pitch control in gentle waves. These are educational models with explicit simplifications: the astrolabe uses fixed mean star positions; the camera hangs from one swivel; the hydrofoil models longitudinal motion with approximate lift and drag, rather than a full fluid simulation. Engineering Suite is in development. The footage comes from the working modules, with selected camera angles and edited captions. Original music was added for this video; there is no voiceover.
