From the Australian premiere of Dmitri Shostakovich's opera, LADY MACBETH of MTSENSK in February 1984, the wonderful New Zealand soprano, Beverley Bergen, sings Katerina Lvovna Ismailova in an extract from Act Two. Her onstage colleagues include Robert Bickerstaff, Gregory Dempsey, Ron Stevens and James Christiansen with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra conducted by Patrick Thomas. The production was part of the 1984 Adelaide Festival of Arts.
