Las manchas del sombrero se descaman fácilmente, son oscuras con fondo claro, el anillo está suelto del pie, y el pie tiene un dibujo estriado característico. NO CONFUNDIR con Chlorophyllum rhacodes (Rodnande fjällskivling) en el que el pie no tiene dibujo estriado y se tiñe de color anaranjado al contacto. Ni tampoco con Amanita pantherina ( Panterflugsvamp) con las manchas del sombrero claras con fondo más oscuro y el anillo pegado al pie.
