Printing a Sinus Curve with the Timex Sinclair 2040
This video shows a simple test and print out of a sinus curve with the Timex Sinclair 2040 thermal printer at the Sinclair ZX Spectrum. You can print the whole screen with the COPY command and a program listing with LPRINT. The Timex Sinclair 2040 is a thermal printer (like a FAX) and is NOT a spark printer like the ZX Printer! The printers uses different paper! A spark printer (like the ZX printer) is not a thermal printer! It uses a special aluminium coated paper that is coated with a conductive layer over a contrasting back. In contrast, the Timex Sinclair 2040 uses a normal thermal paper as known from a fax machine.
