Busch HELLUX 6x36 (Light Version) | FOV 11° | Binoculars | Fernglas | бинокль

Manufacturer: Busch, Rathenow (Germany) Application: Civil Era: 1930s Magnification: 6x Objective Lens Size: 36mm Field of View: 11° - 190m at 1000m Specifics: Shortly after WW1, the first wide-angle binoculars were mass-produced by Carl Zeiss. However, there were also other companies that were able to produce good wide-angle lenses. This also included the Busch company in Rathenow near Berlin. At the time of WW1, Busch released a model called HELLUX 6x36, which had a field of vision of 150m at 1000m (8.5°). From 1931 to 1939, another version of the HELLUX 6x36 was produced, which had a field of view of 190m at 1000m. That was a very large field of vision for that time (and also for today). Only the DELTAR/EM 8x40 from Carl Zeiss with a field of view of 196m at 1000m and the STEPNAC 6x30 from Ross with 192m at 1000m were available on this scale. The famous SARD Mk.43 6x42 was not manufactured until later in the 1940s. There are two types of the HELLUX 190m version. The version shown in this video is the later version, made from lighter material. The first type of the HELLUX 190m version, on the other hand, is made of heavy brass and looks a bit more like the early HELLUX version with the 150m field of view. Unfortunately, I have not yet been able to find a list of serial numbers for Busch binoculars that can be assigned to the production periods. I am grateful for all hints. I tried to make a list of all the (real) wide-angle binoculars available. Here I have only listed binoculars that have at least a 6x magnification and a field of view of at least 9 degrees.
