Can a Radeon HD 5870 run Modern Games?

I'm recording in 1920 x 1080 at 30fps. The Radeon HD 5870 has 1GB of VRAM and a LOT of shaders. Is 1GB of VRAM enough? can it still play any games? Yes. Instead of uploading at 1PM BST I'm going to upload around then. Likely later as I now spend more time checking through my video and adding parts to make it more enjoyable.
