#HillsboroughLawNow - support the campaign to rebalance the scales of justice
This month we join the campaign of the Hillsborough bereaved and survivors for a #HillsboroughLawNow. The campaign is a fundamentally important call to rebalance the scales of justice, which should have already been legislated. At the very least, this law should be a legacy of the disaster and the tireless campaigning of those most affected. An event was held in early January, which we have included parts of, from bereaved campaigner Margaret Aspinall and the Mayors of Manchester and Liverpool, Andy Burnham and Steve Rotheram. Charl Hennessey, a bereaved campaigner who lost her father at Hillsborough, breaks down how the law can tip the scales towards justice. Grenfell United’s Adel Chaoiu spoke of the law’s importance in respect to Grenfell and beyond. We urge our supporters to write to their MPs and demand the #HillsboroughLawNow.
