Предполагается, что воздушный транспорт с электрическими двигателями поможет продвинуться в сфере городской мобильности и сокращении выбросов углекислого газа. Максимальная расчётная скорость Spirit of Innovation составляет около 480 км/ч. Планируется, в ходе одного из дальнейших испытаний разработчикам удастся приблизиться к этому показателю, установив рекорд по скорости полёта для электрических воздушных судов. The tests were carried out at the British Ministry of Defense training ground. The Spirit of Innovation aircraft spent about 15 minutes in the air, after which it made a successful landing. Rolls-Royce is developing the Spirit of Innovation electric aircraft together with the UK government as part of the ACCEL program. It is assumed that electric-powered air transport will help advance urban mobility and reduce carbon dioxide emissions. The maximum design speed of Spirit of Innovation is about 480 km/h. It is planned that during one of the further tests, the developers will be able to get closer to this indicator, setting a record for flight speed for electric aircraft.
