July 31 & August 1, 2021 The Lost Art of Wisdom Don't Tell Me What To Do Proverbs Pastor Jordan Chanin Most of us don’t enjoy other people telling us what to do or how to live. Taking advice from people, especially when it is unsolicited, can be a frustrating and at times challenging thing to do. So how should we respond when other people give us advice? Is there value to it? The book of Proverbs has lots to say about the value that advice has, and what we should do when we are offered it. Questions for reflection: 1. Who is someone in your life that has given you helpful advice? How do you usually respond when they give it to you? 2. What are healthy ways to respond to people trying to give you unsolicited advice? How do you deal with your frustration? 3. What areas in your life have you not allowed people to speak into?
