Jupiter-6, a Helios-44 on steroids | The real BOKEH monster!
The Jupiter-6 (Юпитер-6) is a copy based on the Carl Zeiss Sonnar and was released in 1959. This huge vintage Soviet lens made by KMZ* has a focal length of 180mm and is quite fast at f2.8 It's a very heavy lens, it weighs 1.5 kilo or 3.3 pounds. It looks a bit like the early silver Helios-44 (both M-39), only this Jupiter is 7 times more heavy. This rare Jupiter is the perfect portrait lens, and even though I'm not really a portrait shooter myself, I tried my best to take some photo's during the 'Rotterdam Zomercarnaval' All pictures were taken on a full-frame Sony A7III No Photoshop or any colour correction Location: Museumpark Rotterdam (zomercarnaval) *KMZ (Krasnogorski Mekhanicheskii Zavod, Красногорский механический завод)
