Hallie Parker from California and Annie James from London meet at summer camp and almost immediately become rivals, unaware that their striking resemblance is not a coincidence, but the result of a shared secret from the past. The girls turn out to be twins, separated after their parents’ divorce: one grew up with her winemaker father Nick, the other with her designer mother Elizabeth. Determined to reunite the family each of them has known only half the truth about, Hallie and Annie switch places and travel to each other’s homes, hoping to meet the lost parent and arrange a reunion for the adults. But their plan is complicated by the arrival of Meredith Blake, Nick’s young fiancée, who dreams of wealth and a comfortable life without unnecessary children.
