The buildings themselves date back to 1822, when they were constructed as part of the All-Russian Industrial and Art Exhibition and served as port warehouses. The name Pakgauzy comes from the German language ("Packhäuser") — a reminder of the site’s historic trading heritage. Today, these structures have been carefully restored and transformed into two modern concert halls, where elements of the original architecture have been beautifully preserved. During a recent classical music performance, what impressed us most, was the atmosphere. In the audience were families with children, young professionals, and elegantly dressed guests of an older generation. It was a relaxed, welcoming, and safe environment — one, where people of different ages come together through their shared appreciation of art.
