Young married couple Mia and John Form are expecting their first child and try to fill their home with warmth, calm, and the promise of future happiness. John gives his wife a rare porcelain doll meant to become part of her collection, but soon afterward members of a satanic cult break into their house, and their peaceful family life turns into the beginning of a nightmare. After the attack, increasingly frightening events begin to happen around the doll: strange sounds, fires, visions, and the sense of another presence gradually convince Mia that the evil did not disappear with the criminals.
